InteLingua Project
“InteLingua Project – Intelligence and Language” is a non-profit initiative, held and sponsored by Blog Inteligência Brasil, with the collaboration of the Centre for Research on Architecture of Information (CRAI) at the University of Brasília, and volunteers worldwidely targeted to harness collective intelligence and to provide a learning environment for Intelligence Communities in Americas.
It is, therefore, an international collaborative endeavour targeted to translate books, articles and documents of interest to Intelligence Comunities, providing an environment for knowledge sharing and dissemination. The literature to be translated are either those already in public domain or those licensed under Creative Commons or those whose authors assign the translation rights to the InteLingua Project.
The Project’s basic idea is to make texts available in a structured translation environment so that people interested in the subjects could voluntarily collaborate with the translation.Participation is open to anyone who knows the related languages, are interested in the text’s subject matter and eager to engage oneself in a collaborative labor.
InteLingua Project is a learning environment where participants can study the texts being translated and debate not only among themselves but with authors and subject-matter experts.Initially, the languages covered by the project will be English, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish, in a FROM-ANY-INTO-ANY translation approach (French will come soon). In this way, participating in this project will also be an opportunity for improving language skills.
Translators and collaborators will receive digital credits for the translated texts.
